Mo’s story has reached many people. As a puppy, he wandered into a Taiwanese army training camp. Strung up, beaten, and left for dead in a garbage bin, he was rescued by a wonderful woman named Inn. His leg had been broken, but he slowly healed.
About 8 months after being rescued, he was sent to San Francisco, and we adopted him through Wonder Dog Rescue. We sent Inn photos of us with Mo, she gave them to the Taiwanese press, and since then Mo’s story has been published in newspaper and web articles, including Yahoo news. Here is a letter from his rescuer, Inn, in Taiwan. Mo comes from a little island off of Taiwan called Ping-Hu.
dear mom and dad of moca,
thank you so much for giving him a loving home and a wondeful life.
i have never imagined he would one day be so happy when i first took him in after the army abused him. they hung him upside down and beat him till his leg broke and threw him in the trash to let him die the slow and painful death. he was skin and bone and very hurt when i took him home from the vet who put his leg back together.
thank you for taking him to the beach, he could never run when he was staying with me because taiwanese people are very mean to dogs, and they eat dogs specially black dogs saying the black dogs taste better the the other colored dogs. i can not stop the tears of joy whenever i think of his great happiness with you now.
